Who?

Donna Fondjo (she/her) is a Cameroonian-American actress, raised in the suburbs of Chicago. She is the second oldest of four girls, speaks french fluently, and loves traveling to new places!

She is currently pursuing her BFA in acting and a minor in African Diaspora Studies at Ithaca College. She is not only a performer, but a creative as well. She acts, dances, sings, writes, and choroegraphs.

Donna aspires to be a face that people, especially those who feel underrepresented, can see themselves in. Her passion for theatre and performance fuels her ambitions of bringing joy and security to others; while her Cameroonian roots teach her that when an obstacle is in her way, slowly, but surely, she can overcome.

Why (I Perform)?

"On stage, I feel free. Free to be myself and more. The spotlight doesn’t care about my skin color, and the audience listens to my story regardless of who I am.

I act to tell stories for people like me, to heal my inner child, to inspire young Black girls, and to make my family proud.

I dance to connect—body to music, feet to stage, spirit to audience.

I write to escape, to unlock the words I often hold inside, a private dialogue with my soul.

I sing to find joy. Music lives in me, and the voice is the most beautiful, powerful instrument I know."
